Hello from sunny and warm San Francisco! Leaving Boston on Saturday was a real treat. Besides looking down the nose at a 6.5 hour flight, we got to sit on the runway for an additional hour as they de-iced our plane with a toothbrush. That is so comforting, knowing your plane is so icy that you can't take off but you're going to try anyway.
But alas arriving one day early meant having Sunday work free. I went to Haight Ashbury and got a new latino CD (more about that later) and had a wonderful lunch. I then took the bus downtown to see Union Sqare and of course catch the trolley to Fisherman's warf. For a mere $2 you get to see Chinatown, Nob Hill and Lombard Street! On the was back I got off the troley at the wrong stop and had to walk up a San Francisco hill (aka a MOUNTAIN) then walked over a block only to find out I had to walk 12 blocks DOWN THE MOUNTAIN. It was so hilarious that I was laughing out loud to myself which caused a strange man to ask me if I knew where Market st was. I shared my map and then said, hey where are you from and he said "born and raised in San Francisco." I said born and raised in San Fran and you don't know where market street is? He said, well, I 've been gone for awhile.... naturally that is code for I've been in jail!!! Well I could not turn and run up the hill and was going pretty slowly down so just hoped his rehebilitation worked...
When I got up on Monday and felt like I had skiied a WHOLE day my legs hurt so badly! I should stay out here for a month!
Arrghh
