Book Review-The Surgeon

The Surgeon, Tess Gerritsen
A doctor turned writer after popping out 3 kids writes this book. It does contain some techoER talk but only enough to throw in some validity that the killer has a medical background, which is why the media dubs him "the Surgeon". The victims are killed with a scalpel on the stomach, the intestines and uterus removed, and then the throat slashed. Throw in a beautiful, smart, rich object de desire of the Surgeon and a handsome detective and the results are a great, suspenseful mystery. I didn't want to put the book down and at one point during reading the phone rang and scared the crap out me! Excellent choice for the beach or a pass the day on a hammock reading a book kind of day!

Book Review-Trials of Tiffany Trot

Trials of Tiffany Trot by Isabel Wolff
OHMYGOD! Someone found my journal and started writing about my life! OK, so I'm not 37 (yet!) and I don't go out on 1/10 as many dates as Tiffany but basically this is a hilarious encounter of a British gals' search to find Mr. Right. The book starts out at her birthday party where she promptly gets dumped. The book goes month by month of blind dates, internet matches, and singles groups of men who have so much potential to start but by the end of the first cocktail have red flags waving everywhere. But it also points out the fickle points of Tiffany. This is the funniest line of the book--her date is about to get his meal and has ordered rabbit; "How can I fall I love with a man who eats Bunnies for dinner? thought Tiffany as she cut into her veal." C'mon, that's funny stuff.

Don't worry boys, this in not a man basher book but merely a genuine look at the fine art of finding that someone special. The book truly is laugh out loud funny and a great read.
