Looking for a fun, free Sunday afternoon activity? Come on over to Ash Street and participate in Ethnic Sundays. The triple-decker next door spins hip hop all day, just the newest releases. No matter where you are in the yard or house you can hear the music because they JAM! If you don’t like hip hop move to the front yard where the música has a loud, steady repeated tune that enables you to enjoy some Latino dancing. No partner? No problem, I choose to jig with a great partner, the lawnmower.
I have found that you can actually learn a lot about life via hip hop and picked this up from the latest song I love:
Boy: "I smoke"
Girl "I smoke"
Boy "I drink"
Girl "me too"
Boy & Girl "we're gonna get it onnnnnnnn"
Did you know that the Chinese LOVE karaoke? The Chinese family in the back of my house pile about 50 of their family members under their outdoor living room. Literally, a tent covers couches, a coffee table and a stage where the karaoke singer gets to stand and sing in Chinese accents big American hits like "Hit me with your best shot", "Achy Breaky Heart", and apparently their favorite as I hear it 12 times an hour, "Who let the dogs out."
I thought we had finally come to some sort of middle road when I heard my favorite Mexican tune, Uno Ton Tomato--remixed in HIP HOP!!!! Now, something finally for both neighbors to enjoy simultaneously. But apparently I was wrong, as when I backed out of the driveway Brockton's finest had been called to solve the battle of the bands..... Until next Sunday.
